GRC Youth Scholarship

SavannaPicThe goal of this scholarship program is to support our local youth cutters in their pursuit of post high school education.

Each applicant must submit a completed application to the scholarship committee by October 15th.

Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

Scholarship(s) will be awarded at the January GRC banquet. Funds will be available for use in the second semester of post high school education and payable directly to the educational institution.

Applicant Requirements

➢ Must be an active member of GRC.
➢ Must complete the required essay questions.
➢ Must submit a high school transcript including rank-in-class and grade point average.
➢ Must show in at least three GRC shows in your senior year of high school. If you showed in GRC during your junior year but were unable to meet the three show requirement for your senior year, please explain why.

Cutting Participation

  1. Please list the number of GRC shows you competed in during the current season
    (1 point awarded per show)
  2. Please list your number of years of GRC membership.
    List other cutting groups with which you compete.
    (5 possible points)

Essay Questions
In this section you need to “sell yourself’. The selection committee wants to know more about you. Feel free to answer these questions on a separate piece of paper.

Total Possible Points (5 points per question)

  1. What do you see yourself doing in the future (Example – 1, 3, 10 years ahead) and how can this scholarship help you achieve these goals?
  2. What does belonging to GRC and competing in cutting mean to you?
  3. Why do you want this scholarship? List any special circumstances that the selection committee should know.
