Show Classes-

Horse must be owned by rider or immediate family
member. Saturday Classes

  • OPEN CUTTING HORSE CLASS: Open to any horse and any rider. Points are on the horse.
  • YOUTH CUTTING CLASS: Open to any youth who is under the age of 18 years as of Jan 1 of the current year. The contestant may ride any horse in this class. Points are on the rider. Senior Youth: Senior youth is a youth who is 14 or over and under 18 as of Jan 1 of the current year. Junior Youth: Junior youth is a youth who is 13 or under as of Jan 1 of the current year. Junior Youth and Senior Youth classes will show together and will draw in the same herd.
  • NON-PRO CUTTING CLASS: Open to any Non-Pro rider. See definition for Non Pro Rider and horse ownership. Points are on the rider. Proof of ownership of the horse by the rider or an immediate member of the rider’s family shall be provided to show secretary.
  • $5,000 NOVICE CUTTING HORSE CLASS: Open to any rider on a horse with less than $5,000.00 (excluding NCHA and NRCHA money won in Limited Aged Events) in earnings prior to Jan 1 of the current year. Points are on the horse.
  • $15,000 NON-PRO CUTTING CLASS: Open to any Non-Pro rider having $15,000.00 or less in NCHA lifetime earnings, prior to the current year, riding a horse that they own. Points are on the rider. Proof of ownership of the horse by the rider or an immediate member of the rider’s  family shall be provided to show secretary.
  • $2,000 LIMITED RIDER CLASS: Open to any rider with NCHA lifetime earnings of $2,000.00 or less, prior to Jan 1 of the current year, riding any horse. Points are on the rider.
  • $1,000 NOVICE CUTTING HORSE CLASS: Open to any rider on a horse with less than $1,000.00 in NCHA Lifetime earnings prior to Jan 1 of the current year. Points are on the horse.
  • $500 LIMITED RIDER CLASS: Open to any rider with NCHA lifetime earnings of $500.00 or less, prior to the current year, riding any horse. Points are on the rider.

Sunday Classes

  • OPEN RANCH HORSE CLASS: Open to any horse and any rider. One or two hands are allowed on the reins. Class will be judged on run content. Riders will not be penalized for reining in this class. Points are on the horse.
  • YOUTH RANCH: Open to any youth-Jr & Sr divisions, youth need not own the horse. Horses that have been shown in cutting classes within the past 5 years are not eligible. Horses may be ridden one or two hands. Youth may not cross enter with the youth cutting classes on the same horse.
  • NON-PRO RANCH HORSE CLASS: Open to any non-pro rider.See definition for Non Pro Rider and horse ownership. Proof of ownership of the horse by the rider or an immediate member of the rider’s family shall be provided to show secretary. One or two hands are allowed on the reins. Class will be judged on run content. Riders will not be penalized for reining in this class. Points are on the rider.
  • $5,000 RIDER RANCH CLASS: Open to any rider with $5,000.00 or less in earnings in NRCHA Or NCHA. Horse may be shown with one or two hands. Open to any horse as long as the horse has never been shown in a cutting class prior to January 1 of the current calendar year. Class will be judged on run content. Riders will not be penalized for reining in this class. Points are on the rider.
  • 500 NOVICE HORSE / NOVICE RIDER RANCH CLASS: Open to any rider with lifetime earnings of $500.00 or less, prior to Jan 1 of the current year, riding any horse with less than $500.00 or less in earnings prior to Jan 1 of the current year. Lifetime earnings shall include any cutting or cow horse/stock horse event including NCHA, NRCHA, jackpot, or similar competitions. One or two hands are allowed on the reins. Class will be judged on run content. Riders will not be penalized for reining in this class. Points are on the horse and rider combination. The horse can never have been shown in a cutting class prior to January 1 of the current year.
  • $250 NOVICE RANCH HORSE CLASS: Open to any horse with lifetime earnings of $250.00 or less in any cutting or cow horse/stock horse event including NCHA, NRCHA, jackpots, or similar competitions. One or two hands are allowed on the reins. Class will be judged on run content. Riders will not be penalized for reining in this class. Points are on the horse. The horse can never have been shown in a cutting class prior to January 1 of the current year.
  • $250 NON PRO RANCH NOVICE HORSE/ NOVICE RIDER CLASS: Open to any rider with lifetime earnings of $250.00 or less, prior to Jan 1 of the current year, riding any horse with less than $250.00 or less in earnings prior to Jan 1 of the current year. Lifetime earnings shall include any cutting or cow horse/stock horse event including NCHA, NRCHA, jackpot, or similar competitions. One or two hands are allowed on the reins.
